16-year-old shooter kills 4 at Oregon elementary school, then dies

A 16-year-old male used a long gun to shoot at locked school doors in Bend, Oregon, killing four before dying himself.

According to NBC News, a 16-year-old suspect in Bend, Oregon, used a long gun to shoot at the locked doors of an elementary school to force entry.

NBC News also reported that the shooting resulted in multiple victims, including children, and highlighted the heroism of a community member who pursued the suspect.

CBS News confirmed that at least three children and one adult were killed in the shooting at the elementary school, and that the 16-year-old male shooter died as well.

Law enforcement sources told CBS News that the incident occurred on a Thursday, and the shooter was identified as a 16-year-old male.

Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and the community is responding to the tragedy.
