A hit-and-run crash occurred Friday evening in Orange County near the University of Central Florida, injuring eight people including seven teenagers, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident took place along University Boulevard near Technological Avenue, close to the Knight Library bar and several businesses, FHP reported. A driver collided with two vehicles—a 2020 Honda Civic and another Honda Civic—before jumping a curb and striking a group of teenagers walking on the sidewalk.

Among the injured, three teenagers were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, with one listed as a trauma alert. Four others were taken to hospitals by other means, while one pedestrian refused treatment, according to Orange County Fire Rescue and emergency responders.

The crash scene extended about 100 yards, with tow trucks removing the damaged vehicles. The roadway was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since reopened. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.
