Brewers' Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio win Rawlings Gold Glove Awards
Brice Turang won his second Gold Glove while Jackson Chourio earned his first for their defensive performances.
Brewers second baseman Brice Turang and left fielder Jackson Chourio were named Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in the National League on November 1, according to Yahoo Sports.
This marks Turang's second Gold Glove, having won his first in 2024, and he also earned a Platinum Glove as the top overall defender in the National League. He became the third Brewers player to win multiple Gold Gloves and the first since Cecil Cooper in 1979 and 1980.
Turang, 26, finished fifth in the majors with 19 defensive runs saved and was first among infielders with 23 defensive runs saved, both career highs. He also had a strong offensive season and is expected to receive some votes for the NL Most Valuable Player Award.
Jackson Chourio, 22, won his first Gold Glove by beating out four-time winner Ian Happ and Daylen Lile. Chourio ranked 48th among all players with seven outs above average and was second among left fielders in that category. He also finished 14th overall with 13 defensive runs saved.
The award represents a significant improvement for Chourio, who was previously rated as an average to slightly above average defender.
Both players' achievements highlight their defensive excellence for the Brewers this season, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
