Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman win Gold Gloves for Chicago Cubs
The Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman each earned Gold Glove awards, marking Crow-Armstrong's second consecutive win.
Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Chicago Cubs center fielder, won his second straight Gold Glove award, recognizing his outstanding defensive performance this season, according to Yahoo Sports.
Alex Bregman, also with the Cubs, earned his second career Gold Glove, becoming the first Cubs third baseman to win the award since 1968, Yahoo Sports reported.
The Cubs had five nominees for Gold Gloves, but only Crow-Armstrong and Bregman secured wins. Other Cubs finalists included Ian Happ, Seiya Suzuki, and Dansby Swanson, who did not win this year.
Bregman highlighted the Cubs' focus on defense in an ESPN interview during the award broadcast, noting the team's pride in the details of the game.
Fans can still vote for Crow-Armstrong or Bregman for the Platinum Glove Award at Rawlings.com, which honors the best overall defensive player.
The Milwaukee Brewers and other teams also had multiple Gold Glove winners this year, with nine of the 20 total recipients earning the award for the first time, Yahoo Sports noted.
