The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch for coastal areas of Miami-Dade and Broward counties starting late Saturday night and lasting until Monday evening, according to an alert from NWS Miami FL.

This watch indicates the possibility of significant coastal flooding that could impact numerous roads, low-lying homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure along the coast. Some shoreline erosion is also expected.

In addition to flooding concerns, a High Rip Current Risk remains in effect through Monday evening. Rip currents are dangerous and can pull even strong swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Residents and visitors are advised to stay informed about changing conditions and to avoid flooded roads and swimming in areas with high rip current risk, as stated by the National Weather Service.

The Coastal Flood Advisory remains active until 2 a.m. Sunday, with moderate coastal flooding expected during that time frame.

Local communities should prepare for potential impacts and follow guidance from local authorities and the National Weather Service to stay safe during this period of elevated coastal hazards.
