Former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker joins Chiefs practice squad amid return hopes
Justin Tucker, suspended since 2025 over misconduct allegations, was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.
The Baltimore Banner reported that Justin Tucker, the longtime kicker for the Baltimore Ravens, has been signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, marking a potential return to the NFL after a suspension.
Tucker has not played since January 2025, when he was suspended following an investigation by The Banner that revealed allegations of inappropriate conduct from 16 massage therapists, including six from the Baltimore region.
The Ravens released Tucker in May 2025, calling it a football decision after his worst season in 13 years and after drafting a replacement kicker. Tucker was also suspended 10 weeks by the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy, serving the suspension as a free agent.
The Chiefs currently have Harrison Butker as their starting kicker, who has struggled this season with a career-low field goal percentage. The Chiefs coach indicated Butker would likely play in their next game, but Tucker’s signing could provide insurance or a potential replacement if Butker’s performance does not improve.
Tucker’s future with the Chiefs depends on his practice performance and Butker’s form. If Tucker impresses, he could be promoted to the active roster; otherwise, he may be released to make room for another player.
