Former San Francisco political spokesman joins AI company Anthropic
Connor Skelly, ex-spokesman for a local supervisor candidate, now works at AI firm Anthropic amid a trend of SF political staffers moving to AI giants.
Connor Skelly, who served as spokesman for Manny Yekutiel's San Francisco supervisor campaign, has joined the artificial intelligence company Anthropic, Mission Local reported. Yekutiel ended his campaign earlier this month after facing multiple sexual assault accusations.
Skelly left Yekutiel's campaign in July, shortly after the first accusation surfaced, according to a source cited by Mission Local. He began working at Anthropic in September on "Special Projects," as noted on his LinkedIn profile.
Mission Local identified at least six San Francisco political operatives and former city workers who have moved to AI companies like Anthropic and OpenAI. These firms are competing to provide AI products to government agencies.
Skelly has longstanding ties to local politics and has been involved with organizations such as the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. His move reflects a broader trend of local political talent transitioning to the AI industry in the Bay Area.
