The Golden State Valkyries, winners of the 2026 WNBA Finals, were celebrated with a parade in San Francisco and a ceremony in Oakland, Mission Local reported.

Fans gathered along the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building to the ballpark, holding supportive signs including messages like “Thizz is the Bay Area” and “Trans people belong in sports.”

The parade featured a diverse group of participants including Dykes on Bikes, low-riders, marching bands, and local celebrities such as singer-songwriter Kehlani and Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee, who wore a purple wig.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and state Senator Scott Wiener also attended the event, showing political support for the team and the celebration.

The players themselves were central to the festivities, engaging with fans by spraying champagne, singing karaoke, and leading chants during the parade.

The event highlighted both the sports achievement of the Valkyries and the inclusive spirit of the Bay Area community, according to Mission Local.
