Beverly Hills Police Department used drone technology to track and arrest three individuals involved in dangerous motorcycle stunts on city streets, CBS News Los Angeles reported.

The incidents occurred around 6:45 p.m. on September 25, when the riders performed wheelies in a busy intersection with pedestrians crossing, blocked traffic in a residential neighborhood, and continued with stunts near La Cienega Boulevard, according to KTLA 5.

Police tracked the group using surveillance cameras and a drone, eventually catching up with them at a gas station where one rider was refueling. Two motorcyclists and a driver of a following vehicle were arrested within 20 minutes, facing misdemeanor charges, CBS News Los Angeles said.

The suspects include two men aged 23 and 22, and a juvenile. Authorities also impounded two vehicles, including an electric dirt bike. Beverly Hills Police Chief Max Subin highlighted the dangers of such stunts and stated that this behavior is not tolerated in Beverly Hills, CBS News Los Angeles noted.

The Beverly Hills Police Department issued a warning that dangerous stunts have consequences, including arrest and vehicle impoundment, as reported by KTLA 5.

This case highlights the use of modern technology by local law enforcement to enhance public safety and enforce traffic laws in Beverly Hills.
