Google has introduced its AI-powered app Dreambeans to India, marking its first market outside the U.S., TechCrunch reported. The app is now available on Android and iOS and supports 13 Indian languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and English.

Dreambeans generates personalized visual stories by analyzing users’ activity across Google services such as Calendar, Gemini, Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube without requiring users to input prompts. Initially featuring static AI-generated illustrations, the app now also animates images in some stories using Google's Veo video-generation model.

Google chose India due to strong user interest and the widespread use of its services in the country, with a significant overlap of users across Gemini, Gmail, and Google Photos, according to Google product manager Gozde Oznur.

Since its U.S. launch in June, Dreambeans has seen nearly 55,000 downloads, with a peak in September when it became available to all eligible U.S. users aged 18 and older. However, downloads declined sharply in October.

The expansion to India aims to tap into the world’s second-largest internet market and bring AI-generated personal stories to a broader and more diverse audience.
