A 78-year-old retired communications professor from Pennsylvania was arrested after blocking the path of an autonomous food delivery robot in Philadelphia, according to reports from okcfox.com and wjla.com.

The woman stepped into the robot's path on Filbert Street near Reading Terminal Market, prompting police to respond to a report of criminal mischief involving the delivery robot, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Officers said she refused multiple commands to move, leading to her receiving a criminal violation notice for disorderly conduct, according to a Philadelphia Police Department news release.

In an interview with CNN, the woman said she was protesting the replacement of low-wage human workers by robots, concerns about sidewalk safety, and public surveillance from robot cameras.

She also cited her belief in having First Amendment rights to protest corporate practices in public spaces occupied by these robots, according to the CNN interview.
