Yvonne Bajela, a venture capitalist with over a decade of experience, has launched her own fund called Evertrue Capital, which has raised $17 million to invest in early-stage AI and fintech startups in the UK and Europe, TechCrunch reported.

Bajela previously worked at LocalGlobe and Impact X Capital Partners, where she invested in companies such as Wise, Marshmellow, and Mooves. She started Evertrue Capital to have the independence to follow her own investment convictions.

The fund has already backed seven companies and plans to invest approximately £350,000 per company, aiming to support at least 20 startups over the next three years, according to TechCrunch.

Bajela highlighted the current AI boom as a key factor motivating the launch of her fund, noting that AI has democratized the ability to build companies but creating enduring businesses remains rare.

TechCrunch also noted that the UK startup scene is thriving, with hubs like King's Cross and companies such as Revolut, Synthesia, ElevenLabs, and CuspAI redefining success in the market.

Bajela believes this environment offers an opportunity to invest early in the next generation of globally significant British startups, despite challenges faced by emerging fund managers in the current market.
