ICE vehicles parked in San Francisco city garage near immigration office
San Francisco officials confirm ICE vehicles assigned parking in a city-owned garage and are reviewing contract options amid sanctuary law concerns.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicles have been assigned parking spaces in a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA)-owned garage at 250 Clay Street, located near the ICE field office, Mission Local reported on October 30, 2026.
The SFMTA confirmed that the federal General Services Administration (GSA) has assigned these spaces to ICE within the Golden Gateway Garage, which the city owns but contracts out for management to a private company, IMCO Parking. The city contracts garage management to IMCO Parking, which in turn subcontracts it to the federal General Services Administration, which supports logistics for federal agencies.
Unmarked ICE vehicles, including white vans, have been observed occupying a barricaded section of the garage. There are allegations that ICE agents may have staged enforcement operations from this location, which could conflict with San Francisco's sanctuary city ordinance.
In response, the city is investigating the matter and consulting with the City Attorney’s Office to review contractual agreements and explore options regarding the use of city garages by ICE, according to SFMTA communications director Parisa Safarzadeh.
