A recent analysis by LendingTree found that private-sector workers in the U.S. information sector experienced the largest average pay increase in 2024 and 2025. The sector, which includes broadcasting, online search, and publishing jobs, saw average weekly wages rise by 9.4%, more than double the 4.2% increase across all private industries, CBS MoneyWatch reported.

Within the information industry, broadcasting and content providers had the greatest wage growth, with a 16.8% increase in average weekly pay. This raised average weekly wages from $4,688 to $5,476, an increase of $788, according to LendingTree's analysis.

Only the motion picture and sound recording industry saw a decline in pay during this period, with a 2% drop in weekly wages. Half of the top 10 employment subsectors with the largest pay gains were in the information sector, LendingTree noted.

In addition to wage growth, the healthcare industry, including social assistance, experienced the largest jump in private-sector employment, with hiring rising 3.4% in 2024 and 2025. This compares with 0.4% job growth for all private-sector workers. Social assistance roles, providing residential care and community support, added over 300,000 workers in the two years, reflecting demographic trends in an aging population.
