Equity Union Real Estate has introduced a healthcare program that provides affiliated real estate agents and their families access to group-style health insurance options, including a nationwide PPO network, through a partnership with Trident BPO, HousingWire reported.

The program aims to address a common challenge for independent real estate professionals, who often lack access to affordable and flexible health coverage outside traditional employer-sponsored plans. According to the National Association of Realtors’ 2025 Profile of Real Estate Firms, 81% of firms do not offer health insurance to independent contractors, licensees, or agents.

Because many agents operate as independent contractors, they typically must secure health insurance independently or through a spouse. Equity Union’s initiative offers a dedicated resource to connect these agents with group-level healthcare options not usually available through standard brokerage models.

Harma Hartouni, CEO of Equity Union, emphasized that the program supports agents beyond transactions by helping them access meaningful healthcare choices. This move also provides broker-owners and team leaders with additional options to support their affiliated agents’ health coverage needs.
