Joe Lacob, known for his success in basketball ownership with the Golden State Warriors and the Golden State Valkyries, has shown interest in purchasing Major League Baseball teams, according to the SF Standard.

Over the past 25 years, Lacob has explored buying the Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and the San Francisco Giants. However, his attempts to enter baseball ownership have been unsuccessful to date.

The Giants' current ownership has made it clear they do not intend to sell the team, despite Lacob's inquiries. Lacob's innovative approach and competitive nature have driven his success in basketball, and some believe MLB could benefit from his involvement.

Lacob's efforts to join the MLB ownership fraternity continue, with hopes that his forward-thinking strategies could help modernize the league, which is often seen as slow to adapt to new trends.
