Attorneys for rapper Lil Durk expressed frustration after federal prosecutors sought to block his bond release following his acquittal on a murder-for-hire charge earlier this year, myk104.com reported.

In court before Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald, Lil Durk's defense team proposed a bond package including letters of support from celebrities like Jay-Z and J. Cole, future music royalties, and his mother's home as collateral, according to myk104.com.

Prosecutors opposed the bond, alleging that Lil Durk smuggled an Apple Watch into the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center, using it to make hundreds of unauthorized calls before it was confiscated, as reported by Taylor Parise of LA Magazine.

The prosecution also claimed that Lil Durk frequently violated detention rules, resulting in his placement in solitary confinement, which contributed to their decision to keep him in custody.

Lil Durk's next trial is scheduled for August, meaning he remains imprisoned while awaiting the upcoming racketeering trial, myk104.com stated.
