Man critically injured in shooting near Fort Washington recreation center

A man was shot Friday night outside Fort Foote Recreation Center and is in critical condition, police said.

A man was critically injured in a shooting near the Fort Foote Recreation Center in Fort Washington on Friday night, FOX 5 DC reported.

Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. at the 8300 block of Fort Foote Road, according to FOX 5 DC.

The injured man was medevaced to shock trauma and is listed in critical condition, officials said, as reported by FOX 5 DC.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact police at 301-459-9088, FOX 5 DC noted.
