Fairfax County police reported that a man who withdrew $2,400 from a bank in the 4400 block of Backlick Road in Annandale was followed by a suspect who later stole the cash from his vehicle.

According to WTOP, the suspect watched the victim at the bank on October 23 and followed him to a nearby gas station. While the victim was inside the gas station, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took the money before fleeing the scene.

Police have released surveillance video showing the suspect and the vehicle believed to be involved in the theft. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact investigators to aid in solving the case.

Fairfax County's Connect program is encouraging residents to register their home security cameras, as these can assist police in investigations, locating missing persons, and solving crimes.
