A Maryland man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for a fatal shooting in Montgomery Village, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office, as reported by FOX 5 DC.
The man, Demari Brown, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in May for the death of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert. Brown will also undergo five years of supervised release after his prison term.
Gilbert was found dead inside a Honda in Gaithersburg on April 26, 2025. The vehicle had hit a curb and the engine was running when authorities found him. He had been shot in the head while sitting in the car, according to court documents.
Investigations led to the arrests of Brown and a co-defendant, Jorden Hungerford, who allegedly lured the victim to the location by posing as a female friend on social media and arranging a marijuana purchase. Both men robbed and killed Gilbert at the scene.
Hungerford was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and firearm offenses. He faces a potential life sentence and is scheduled for sentencing on November 6, FOX 5 DC reported.
