Low water pressure in parts of Richmond is returning to normal after a vehicle struck a utility pole Monday evening, causing a power outage at a Department of Public Utilities (DPU) pump station, WTVR reported.

The outage affected customers in the Museum District, Fan, and Northside areas of the city, according to both WTVR and NBC12. Approximately 900 people experienced the low water pressure, NBC12 said, citing Dominion Energy's outage website.

DPU stated that during the outage, water pressure remained around 20 psi and was never unsafe for consumption, WTVR reported. The agency also said it remained on generator power while Dominion Energy worked to restore commercial electrical service to the pump station.

Power was restored to the pump station around 8:40 p.m. Monday, and officials said water pressure will continue to improve as the system is monitored until the station is fully operational, NBC12 reported.
