Maryland voters decide key races including governor and congressional redistricting
Maryland voters cast ballots for governor, U.S. House, state legislature, and a redistricting amendment on Election Day.
Maryland voters went to the polls to decide several important races, including the governor's seat, U.S. House of Representatives, state Senate, House of Delegates, and county executives in multiple counties including Baltimore and Anne Arundel, according to WBFF Fox45.
Democratic Governor Wes Moore sought a second term while staking his campaign on a constitutional amendment that would allow his party to participate in mid-decade redistricting ahead of the 2028 election, WBFF Fox45 reported.
The election also included three statewide ballot measures, notably Question 3 on congressional redistricting, which could impact the political landscape in Maryland, as noted by WBFF Fox45.
Republican candidate Dan Cox, Moore's opponent, pledged to opt Maryland into the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit if elected, a position Moore has not yet confirmed, WBFF Fox45 reported.
The Associated Press planned to provide live vote results and declare winners in the various contests, including those for Baltimore and other Maryland counties, as part of their Election Day coverage, WBFF Fox45 noted.
