More than 1 million Georgians have voted early in 2026 election
Early voting in Georgia's 2026 election has surpassed 1 million ballots, with seniors leading turnout.
More than 1 million Georgians have cast their ballots early ahead of the November 3 election, according to data from GeorgiaVotes.com and the Georgia Secretary of State's office reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
As of early October 20, over 1,027,000 ballots were submitted, including nearly 980,000 early votes and more than 46,000 mail ballots. This total is about 3% higher than the early voting numbers at the same point in the 2022 general election.
Voters aged 65 and older represent the largest group among early voters, making up nearly 47% of those who have voted so far. Those aged 50 to 64 account for almost 29%. Women comprise 55% of early voters, while men make up about 45%.
Racial demographics show that 52% of early voters are White, 35% Black, 3% Hispanic, and 2.4% Asian. These figures reflect voter demographics but do not indicate candidate preferences.
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger commented that the record-breaking early voting numbers demonstrate trust in the state's election process and the efforts of county election officials to ensure free and fair elections.
