WBTV reported that the Powered by FTGU snack plant located on Somerset Drive in Conover, Catawba County, will permanently close on December 18, 2026.

A letter from a company executive to state officials confirmed that 93 workers at the plant will be laid off just days before Christmas.

Powered by FTGU, which stands for “From the Ground Up,” produces snacks including chips, crackers, and pretzels and operates under the Our Home snack brand umbrella.

Our Home has recently closed several other plants across the United States, including locations in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Las Vegas.

The closure adds to recent manufacturing layoffs in North Carolina, as noted by WBTV in related reporting.
