The Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026 is set to begin on October 26, with a significant increase in prize money for the teams, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced that the champions will receive NPR 15 million, up from NPR 10 million in the first two seasons. The prize money for the top four finishers will also be shared, with a NPR 7 million difference between first and second place.

CAN Treasurer Padam Khadka stated the rise in prize money is funded by expected higher commercial returns, projecting gross revenue of NPR 1.5 billion for the month-long tournament. Sponsorships are expected to bring in NPR 200 million, while ticketing and broadcasting combined could generate over NPR 700 million.

The International Cricket Council formally sanctioned the NPL on October 16, allowing franchises to recruit a stronger overseas contingent. Indian viewers can stream matches on FanCode, while Star Sports will broadcast the tournament internationally.
