Grok has released the first seven minutes of its AI-generated ‘Odyssey,’ which it calls Episode 1 of the Odyssey series, TechCrunch reported. This release comes three months after Elon Musk announced plans for a full-length, historically accurate AI movie version of Homer’s epic.

Musk had criticized Christopher Nolan’s version of ‘The Odyssey’ for its casting choices, while Nolan has expressed skepticism about AI technology. Nolan’s film was a large-scale production involving multiple countries and thousands of cast and crew, achieving significant box office success and critical acclaim.

The Grok version was created in collaboration with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker. According to TechCrunch, the footage looks acceptable if one is not expecting artistry or human interest, and some scenes appeared realistic enough to be mistaken for real actors on a real sea.

While the historical accuracy of the AI-generated footage is uncertain, TechCrunch noted that some creative liberties seem to have been taken. The release invites viewers to watch and provide feedback, with the possibility of a full breakdown of the production process in the future.
