The Squire House, a well-known historic residence in Palo Alto, has been put on the market with an asking price of $19.9 million, Palo Alto Online reported.

Located on University Avenue, the white-columned mansion has been a local landmark for over 100 years, representing the city’s architectural heritage.

The property has not been listed for sale since 1999, marking this as a rare opportunity for buyers interested in historic homes.

More than 50 years ago, the Squire House was saved from demolition, an act that helped initiate Palo Alto’s historic-preservation movement, highlighting its cultural significance.
