Police chase in DC ends with suspect running into Prince George's high school
A police chase from Northeast DC into Riverdale Park led to a lockdown at two local schools before all suspects were arrested.
A police chase that began in Northeast Washington, D.C., ended with a suspect running into Parkdale High School in Riverdale Park, Maryland, prompting lockdowns at two nearby schools, FOX 5 DC reported.
The chase started around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after U.S. Park Police found a stolen car near 51st and Banks streets in Northeast DC. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, crossing into Prince George's County.
Three people exited the car in Riverdale Park and ran. Officers arrested two suspects quickly, but the third ran into Parkdale High School, causing the school and William Wirt Middle School to go into lockdown. Both lockdowns were lifted by 3 p.m.
Parkdale High School's principal noted that the stolen vehicle originated from William Wirt School property. The school administration is cooperating with law enforcement and Prince George's County Public Schools security in the ongoing investigation.
The U.S. Park Police have not released the identities of the suspects, and it remains unclear how the suspect entered Parkdale High School during the incident.
