privacy-focused AI assistant Ollie to shut down Nov. 6
Ollie, an AI assistant emphasizing user privacy, will cease operations next week amid industry pressures.
TechCrunch reported that Ollie, a startup offering a privacy-focused AI assistant, announced it will shut down on November 6.
The company's co-founder and CEO, Bill Lennon, shared the news on X, expressing pride in their achievements and gratitude to the team, users, and investors.
Ollie provided a subscription-based AI assistant aimed at helping families stay connected and organized, integrating email, calendar, appointment booking, meal planning, and bill payment features.
The app was notable for achieving SOC 2 privacy compliance, a standard verified by independent audit, underscoring its commitment to user privacy.
Despite raising $7.5 million in a seed round led by Khosla Ventures, the company cited the competitive pressures of the growing AI assistant market as a key factor in its closure.
