California's Proposition 45, which aims to reform the state's signature environmental law to facilitate increased housing construction, has caused a division among pro-housing groups, according to Palo Alto Online.

For nearly ten years, activists in California's Yes In My Backyard movement and other pro-development advocates have sought changes to environmental regulations to promote more housing development.

Supporters of Proposition 45 say it would help clear the way for building more homes.

However, despite shared goals, some pro-housing groups remain split on whether the proposition is the right approach to achieve these changes, reflecting differing views within the advocacy community.
