Rain likely to affect Halloween night in Southern California
Trick-or-treaters in Los Angeles and nearby counties should prepare for rain on Halloween evening, with showers expected to peak after 9 p.m.
Southern California, including Los Angeles, is expected to experience rain on Halloween night, potentially impacting outdoor activities such as trick-or-treating, KTLA 5 reported. The National Weather Service has advised residents to anticipate wet conditions during the evening hours on Saturday.
CBS News Los Angeles issued a Next Weather Alert through Sunday due to the likelihood of rainfall in the region. Forecasts indicate that rain showers will extend into Sunday, with the peak intensity expected during the evening hours on Halloween.
The National Weather Service noted that while rain is expected, it is not anticipated to cause flooding. Rainfall rates are predicted to remain under half an inch per hour, suggesting the precipitation will be more of a nuisance than a severe issue, according to CBS News Los Angeles.
Models show that the heaviest rain could occur after 9 p.m., which may coincide with the later part of trick-or-treating. If the peak does not happen between 4 and 8 p.m., lighter rain is still expected across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.
Weather experts advised that starting Halloween plans earlier in the evening might help avoid the heavier rain. After the peak, steady showers are expected to continue overnight, with conditions improving by Monday, although scattered showers may still occur.
