Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company headquartered at 500 Howard St. in San Francisco, contributed $900,000 to various Democratic committees across California just days before the recent election, the SF Standard reported.

The largest portion of the donation, $525,000, was given to the California Democratic Party, according to a disclosure filed with the state secretary of state.

In addition to the state party, Anthropic donated $45,000 each to the Democratic parties in San Francisco, San Mateo, Orange, Fresno, and Siskiyou counties.

The company also gave $150,000 to a get-out-the-vote organization, aiming to support voter engagement efforts across the state.

The donations are intended to help elect Democrats at multiple levels, oppose the Trump-backed Proposition 39, and bolster voter protection programs throughout California.
