Richmond's Department of Transportation (RDOT) is inviting community feedback on a proposed protected bike lane along 6th Street, WRIC 8News reported.

The plan involves creating a designated cycle track that would reduce the number of vehicle travel lanes from two to one on part of 6th Street, according to WRIC.

In addition to narrowing vehicle lanes, the proposal may also reduce street parking to accommodate the new bike lane, the report said.

RDOT is seeking input from local residents and stakeholders to better understand community preferences and concerns regarding the changes to 6th Street's layout.
