The New Orleans Saints secured an overtime victory against the Cleveland Browns, marking their third win of the season, according to Yahoo Sports. Kicker Charlie Smyth, returning to the NFL, contributed three field goals and two extra points, including the decisive extra point after an overtime touchdown.

Smyth, who replaced Daniel Carlson for the game, successfully made field goals from 30, 27, and 48 yards but missed a 52-yard attempt. His extra point following Juwan Johnson's overtime touchdown provided the winning margin after the Browns failed a two-point conversion attempt.

The Browns, with Shedeur Sanders starting at quarterback, struggled offensively but managed to tie the game late with a 51-yard field goal. The Saints responded with an 11-play drive in overtime, culminating in a touchdown pass from Tyler Shough to Johnson, followed by Smyth's extra point.

Despite the win, Yahoo Sports described the game as an unsatisfying victory for the Saints, highlighting turnovers, penalties, and defensive lapses. The Saints had 160 rushing yards, with quarterback Tyler Shough contributing 51 yards on scrambles, and completed 21 of 35 passes for 265 yards and a critical fourth-quarter touchdown.

The Browns' passing attack was effective, with Sanders throwing for 297 yards and two touchdowns, including long completions to rookie wide receivers. Defensive mistakes by the Saints allowed the Browns to score in overtime and attempt a game-winning two-point conversion.

With this win, the Saints are tied for first place in the NFC South, as other teams in the division also lost. The team's performance raised questions about their consistency and defense, but the victory keeps them competitive in the standings.
