San Diego election officials to update results Monday at 6 p.m.
San Diego County Registrar's Office continues counting ballots from the Nov. 5 general election with next update Monday evening.
The San Diego County Registrar of Voters (ROV) is still counting ballots from the Nov. 5 general election, with the next update scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, according to the Times of San Diego.
Updated results will be posted on the Registrar's website, SDVote.com, with any further updates after Monday left to the Registrar's discretion.
More than 2 million ballots were sent to voters countywide, who returned them via vote centers, mail, or drop boxes. All mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days to be counted.
Each mail ballot undergoes signature verification before counting. Election results must be certified by Dec. 3, and all results remain unofficial until certification is complete.
The ROV plans to use the full certification period to ensure every legally cast ballot is counted accurately. The office will be closed on Nov. 11 and Nov. 26-27 for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving holidays.
