Senator Ashley Moody secured a narrow victory in the Florida Senate race, winning reelection against challenger Angie Nixon, according to Central Florida Public Media.

Moody emphasized her commitment to serving all Floridians, regardless of their vote, and expressed concern about a perceived decline in patriotism among younger generations.

Her opponent, Angie Nixon, energized younger voters and had previously won a surprising primary victory, but did not gain enough support to overcome Moody in the general election.

University of North Florida poll expert Sean Freeder noted that while some Republicans were unhappy with a recent scandal, it did not lead to significant crossover voting to Nixon, who faced challenges appealing to Republican voters due to her political positions.

Moody delivered her victory speech shortly after the election results were announced, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
