KSAL reported that a fundraiser event called “Night Out At Spangles” is planned for Tuesday evening to support the family of Audrey Rutherford, a 41-year-old woman who was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Salina.

Audrey Rutherford died on October 7th after being hit in a crosswalk at 9th St and Elm St. She leaves behind her husband, four daughters, eight grandchildren, and a dog.

Rutherford was known for her community involvement, often donating clothes and stuffed animals to families in need. She also worked for delivery services such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Instacart to help those without transportation get meals and groceries.

The fundraiser will take place at Spangles restaurant on South 9th Street from 5 PM to 8 PM. Customers who mention Audrey’s name when ordering or paying will have 20% of their sales donated to her husband and daughters.

Community members are encouraged to attend, share a meal, and support the Rutherford family during this difficult time.
