Three men arrested after Ocala TikTok haircut stunt injures teen

Three young men were arrested in Ocala after a TikTok challenge involving a haircut in the middle of a busy road resulted in one being seriously injured, WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando reported. The incident occurred on State Road 200 near SW College Road around 8 p.m. on September 27.

According to WKMG and FOX 35 Orlando, the group took a chair from a nearby restaurant and placed it in the center of the roadway. An 18-year-old man sat in the chair while another cut his hair and a third recorded the stunt on video.

During the stunt, a nearby traffic crash caused a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck to veer toward the group. The two men who were cutting hair and filming escaped, but the seated man was struck from behind and sustained serious injuries, police said.

All three men were arrested and face charges including unlawful assembly and dangerous use of public rights-of-way, according to Ocala police. One of the men was taken into custody at Orlando International Airport after returning from abroad and was booked into Marion County Jail.

The Ocala Police Department warned that social media stunts on active roadways pose immediate danger to participants and drivers and will result in criminal charges, FOX 35 Orlando added.
