President Donald Trump said this week he is open to working with Democrats, according to reports from CBS4Local, NBC Montana, and KFDM. However, he also blamed them for recent economic troubles before they have taken control of Congress.

Following the midterm elections where Democrats gained control, stocks initially surged, and Trump claimed credit for the market's record highs. He highlighted that the stock market had hit a record high for 91 days in less than two years and that 401(k)s were performing well, as reported by The National News Desk.

The mood shifted when a significant sell-off driven by technology stocks occurred on Wall Street, possibly due to investor concerns about upcoming Democratic investigations. Trump attributed the stock market crash to the Democrats' election success, stating they had themselves to blame.

Market analysts, including Jack Caffrey, an equity portfolio manager at JPMorgan, said the sell-off represents a normal correction in the Nasdaq, which typically happens once or twice a year, suggesting there is little cause for alarm at this stage.

This early exchange of blame and cooperation signals potential conflicts between the Republican White House and the Democratic-led Congress in the coming period, as noted by the news outlets.

President Trump is traveling to Cape Canaveral, Florida, to speak at a technology showcase at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and will spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago club, according to the reports.
