Al Sager, 65, and Susan Guc, 76, both longtime singles from Bay City, Michigan, recently married after meeting in an unexpected way, CBS News reported.

Both had been happily single for decades, with Sager working as a truck driver and Guc as a nurse devoted to her patients. Neither had actively sought a partner until their paths crossed during a cardiac rehabilitation program.

They met a couple of years ago while undergoing heart procedures and attending the same rehab sessions. Guc noticed Sager on an exercise bike and caught his attention by giving him a rock with the word "smile" etched on it, which sparked their connection.

Their relationship developed from that moment, leading to marriage and surprising their relatives, who had not expected either to settle down. The couple now shares a message of hope for others who think they are too old to find love.
