The University of Alabama has suspended the Eta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. until May 2030, according to reports on the university's End Hazing website and WBRC/Gray News coverage.

The suspension follows an investigation that found seven individuals hazed new members through verbal and physical abuse. The hazing included coercion into acts of personal servitude, physical discomfort, illegal activities, and degrading tasks.

The report stated some members were injured during these activities, and new members were allegedly denied privileges while being provided alcohol and drugs. The incident occurred off campus in September 2025 and was reported via an anti-hazing hotline about a month later.

The investigation concluded in May 2026 with no arrests made. Neither the University of Alabama nor the national headquarters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. immediately responded to requests for comment on the matter.
