Waffle House to open near Baylor University in Waco by early 2028

New details have emerged about the arrival of Waffle House in Waco, Texas, marking the city's first location of the popular breakfast chain, according to mykiss1031.com and koolfmabilene.com.

A project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation indicates that construction is set to begin in September 2027. The restaurant will be approximately 1,840 square feet in size and is estimated to cost around $300,000.

The Waffle House will be situated at 722 S. 7th Street, close to Baylor University, providing local residents easier access to menu items like the All-Star Special, cheesy grits, and loaded hash browns.

Construction is expected to be completed by February 2028, signaling that the familiar yellow sign will soon be visible in Central Texas.

This development is anticipated to bring a new dining option to Waco, reducing the need for residents to travel to other cities for Waffle House offerings.
