The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list was announced with Maido in Lima, Peru, named as the number one restaurant, according to Eater.
Spain's Asador Etxebarri and Quintonil in Mexico City took the second and third positions respectively, as reported by Eater and Bon Appétit.
Specialty awards included Singapore's Lesley Liu winning Best Sommelier and Ghana Food Movement receiving the Champions of Change award, noted by Eater.
The ceremony was held in Lima, Peru, after being relocated from Abu Dhabi due to criticism over human rights concerns, Bon Appétit reported.
Maido, having won the top spot last year, is now part of the Best of the Best list and is not eligible for this year's ranking, Eater explained.
The 50 Best Restaurants list is known for recognizing a range of culinary styles, from elaborate molecular gastronomy to simple, elegant cooking, Bon Appétit added.
