Warm and humid weather ahead of cold front brings fog and showers to Charleston area
Charleston area to see rising humidity, fog Wednesday morning, and scattered showers Friday as a cold front approaches.
According to Live 5 WCSC, the Charleston area will experience increasing humidity levels starting Wednesday, with afternoon highs reaching the lower 80s inland. This marks a warmer trend compared to early November averages.
Fog is expected to develop Wednesday morning, potentially reducing visibility during the commute, especially in areas away from the immediate coast. However, widespread dense fog is not anticipated.
While conditions will remain mostly dry through Wednesday, a few isolated showers and storms may occur Thursday as rain chances return to the region. The best chance for scattered showers and storms will come Friday when a strong cold front moves into the Lowcountry.
Despite the warmer temperatures, daily record highs at Charleston International Airport are unlikely to be broken. After the front passes, the weekend is forecast to be quiet and dry, providing a break from the unsettled weather earlier in the week.
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a weakening frontal boundary in the west-central Atlantic but no immediate tropical threat to the Charleston area was mentioned by Live 5 WCSC.
