Election officials in Dorchester County are preparing for a significant turnout on Election Day, following a surge in early voting, Live 5 WCSC reported.
Approximately 30,000 residents cast ballots early, an increase attributed to a high number of open statewide and local seats, according to WCSC.
Total voter participation is expected to reach at least 60,000, which would represent about a 75% turnout rate across the county.
Officials remind voters that polls close at 7 p.m. and state law ensures anyone in line by that time can still vote.
