Young mariachis prepare for historic La Jolla concert
San Diego's La Jolla Music Society debuts Mariachi de Honor with top local youth musicians this Thursday.
A group of talented young mariachis in San Diego is preparing for a significant concert this Thursday, November 5, at The Conrad, the La Jolla Music Society's performing arts center, according to Times of San Diego.
The event marks the first public performance of the newly formed Mariachi de Honor, an initiative by La Jolla Music Society that brings together some of the county's most outstanding student musicians.
Among the performers is 17-year-old violinist Helen Cruz Cruz, a senior at Logan Memorial Educational Campus, who discovered her passion for the violin four years ago and sees music as a powerful form of expression.
The young musicians have been rehearsing under the guidance of professor Serafín Paredes and renowned trumpeter Javier Rodríguez, who are leading the group to showcase their talents in this historic community event.
The free concert aims to celebrate and elevate the mariachi tradition in San Diego, highlighting the dedication and skill of the area's youth.
This event provides an opportunity for local audiences to experience the vibrant mariachi culture and support emerging artists from the region.
