Apple has introduced a new iPad mini featuring an 8.5-inch OLED display, marking an increase from the previous 8.3-inch screen, according to TechCrunch and The Verge.

The device is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring 5.4 mm in thickness with 24 percent slimmer bezels, allowing for a larger display within a similar compact form factor.

The OLED screen offers a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits and a 2 million:1 contrast ratio, with a nano-texture option to reduce glare, making it suitable for various lighting conditions.

Powered by the A20 Pro chip, the iPad mini supports advanced AI features including on-device AI models and the next generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, enhancing user interaction.

Additional features include a 12-megapixel center stage front camera, faster wireless and cellular connectivity, fast-charge support, and an Acoustic Display with integrated woofers for improved audio quality.

The new iPad mini starts at $699 for the Wi-Fi model and $849 for the Wi-Fi and cellular version, launching shortly before Apple's upcoming "Pro and Tell" event.
