Employees at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Police and Public Safety headquarters have reported strange occurrences that some describe as ghostly. Business analyst Kristy Guice experienced an unsettling moment during a recent video call when a ghostly image appeared behind her on screen, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Guice said she looked around her office but saw nothing, yet the image persisted on her computer screen. She captured a photo showing a white, cloaked figure hovering in the background, which she shared with The Baltimore Sun.

The building’s eerie reputation is not new. In 2019, before starting work at the university police headquarters, an employee named Carin Cardella fell near the staircase, an incident that employees sometimes mention in relation to the building’s ghost stories.

These accounts contribute to a local lore about the police building being haunted, as reported by FOX45 Baltimore and The Baltimore Sun.

What we're watching: Whether more employees come forward with similar experiences or if the university addresses these reports publicly.
