Blumhouse and Atomic Monster rename merged company Blumhouse Atomic
The merged horror studios Blumhouse and Atomic Monster have rebranded as Blumhouse Atomic while keeping separate labels.
Jason Blum and James Wan have announced that their merged horror production companies, previously known as Blumhouse Atomic Monster, will now be called Blumhouse Atomic, Deadline reported.
The two companies, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, merged in 2024 and have since operated under one umbrella, generating over $2.5 billion in worldwide box office revenue against combined production budgets of $330 million, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite the rebranding, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will continue to operate as distinct production labels with their own creative teams developing film and television projects under each banner, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
Jason Blum highlighted that the merger has allowed them to combine the output of a studio with the creative freedom and financial discipline of an independent company, expanding opportunities into television, games, and live experiences, as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter explained.
James Wan emphasized the importance of supporting new voices in horror and fostering long-term relationships with filmmakers, citing recent projects like Backrooms and Obsession as examples of their commitment to distinctive storytelling, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
