Clover High School defeated Lancaster 49-13 in the first round of the SCHSL 4A state playoffs, WBTV reported. Despite a 5-5 regular season record, the Eagles dominated Lancaster to secure their third playoff win in four years.

Indian Land also advanced with a 42-7 win over Greenwood in their first-round game, according to WBTV. This marks the third consecutive year Indian Land has reached the second round of the playoffs.

Clover will travel to Rock Hill to face defending state champion South Pointe on November 13, while Indian Land will have a rematch against T.L. Hanna, a team they upset last year, in the second round.

Both teams showed strong performances in their opening games, setting up competitive matchups in the next playoff round.

Local fans can look forward to these upcoming games as part of the ongoing high school football postseason in the Charlotte area.
